Become active in preserving railroad history to
engage and educate generations to come!

To educate the public concerning the life of Abraham Lincoln and his influence on american railroad development through the time of his death and return to Springfield, Illinois, by constructing and operating historically accurate operating equipment representative of that era.

GOAL:
Total completion by the 150th Anniversary anticipated in 2014.

TIDBITS:
It took 14 days for the Lincoln Funeral Car to travel from Washington to Springfield in 1865.

The journey retraced the path of Lincoln's original inaugural trip.

Abraham Lincoln's son Willie, whose coffin was exhumed, was also transported home.
